Yesterday was a beginning of a 10 day long festival of Ganesh Chaturthi. Lord Ganesh is a God of new beginnings and remover of obstacles. ‘Sukh karta, dukh harta…darshan matre mano kamna purti..’ – He takes all the obstacles away and full fill all good wishes, if someone pray with full faith. There are lakhs of people who have experienced divine blessings of Ganesha. This festival is celebrated on a large scale in Maharastha, Gujarat and other states of India. The freshness in the breeze and the picture-perfect weather strikes a perfect balance between mind, body, and soul.
The festival is marked with installation of Ganesha clay idols in homes and publicly on pandals (temporary stage). Observations include chanting of Vedic hymns and Hindu texts such as Ganapati Upanishad, prayers and vrata (fasting). Offerings and prasada from the daily prayers, that is distributed from the pandal to the community, include sweets such as modak (Laddu) believed to be a favourite of  Lord Ganesha.  The festival ends on the tenth day after start, wherein the idol is carried in a public procession with music and group chanting, then immersed in nearby water body such as a river or ocean, thereafter the clay idol dissolves and Ganesha is believed to return to Mount Kailash to Parvati and Shiva.’

On this auspicious occasion I too pray…  May Lord Ganesha shower his blessings on you and fulfil all your wishes

Now let’s talk about my manicure I have done for this special occasion. I have never created any special mani for Ganesh Chaturthi, so this year I decided to create something special for Lord Ganesh.

I started with a gradient in red, pink and orange shade which represents colours of ‘Sindoor’ ‘kumkum’. All three polishes used to create this gradient are from Juice Cosmetics. And I loveee how it turned out. <3

I sealed the base under Bundle Monster’s top gel coat and then added freehand Ganeshji, his favourite laddus and texts praising him. I have used Camel Artists’ Acrylic Colors to draw Ganeshji and text. Those laddus are gold caviar bids I received many time ago from Born Pretty Store.
I really enjoyed doing this mani and hope you too will like it. Excuse me for a long post with a lot of pictures.

Thank you so much girls for taking time to read a long post. I will see you soon with new manicure. Do tell me what you think about Ganesh Chaturthi special manicure. I will love to read your thoughts. 🙂 Wish you a happy time ahead. 🙂
